Sustainability at Bypass


We emphasize that our core business is already the protection of the environment itself, which we have been representing on the market since 2006.

Save the planet nb 1:

A ‘green’ attitude begins to buy only when absolutely necessary, and if we already have to, we buy used ones (from which it can be).

We’re working to stop producing garbage if we can. For example, we are working on a reusable packaging material that avoids the use of recyclable bags and boxes and e.g. trash cans are also made from cardboard at Bypass.

Based on the waste pyramid, prevention – do not generate waste – is the most appropriate procedure to reduce the impact on the environment.

We collect waste completely separated (selectively) in all areas, including municipal waste.

Renovating old things is playing an increasingly important role in protecting the environment, as it does not generate waste and the production of new products (whatever new products) use a lot of fossil energy. We have been giving new life to our devices for years.

We work in a building built long ago, in an existing industrial area! Existing green space was not taken away from nature. In terms of transport, we chose a site that is easily accessible by the staff, they live close by, there is also a bike path.

We recycle everything in the building, our furniture is also renovated, we ‘donorizate’ in this area as well. Upcycling is when a product with a higher value (eg masonry lamp shade, pallet furniture) or better environmental perception (eg bicycle bag) is created through recycling.

Energy savings and reduction of consumption at our site: replacement of doors and windows, building insulation, lighting modernization (LED) 2020.12-2021.03, heat pump 2021.01-02, installation of solar system in 2021.

In Hungary, 0.24 W / m2K is the standard for heat loss in buildings. The heat loss of our building will decrease from 2.24 W / m2K to 0.18 due to insulation. Due to the replacement of the doors and windows, the heat loss decreased from 3-5 W / m2K to 1.15-1.7! This reduces our cooling and heating carbon emissions.

We expect at least 50% energy savings from 2021!

We paint with water-based paints.

Packaging and storage boxes are all made from recycled material.

We use environmentally friendly solders in service.

After many years of experimentation, in the last 3 years we only use chemical free agents, made from natural ingredients for cleaning. We work with 98% environmentally friendly, chemical-free materials in the plant.

We no longer use screen or pad printing, which requires several chemicals and additives, so it is not a cost-effective technical solution in modern production either. Therefore, we use laser technology for surface cleaning and marking (start in 2020), and a UV printer for multi-color graphic prints (introduce in 2021.03.). For example, smart card reprinting means less carbon dioxide emissions.

Hazardous waste is delivered to a designated partner for disposal and reuse. Since 2010, we have been delivering documented the faulty, scrap remote controls, batteries, PSUs, cables that cannot be longer usable and recovered.

We select our suppliers according to how much they work with environmentally friendly materials. We prefer those who have a smaller carbon footprint and who is closer to us, causing less transport, less carbon emissions. For foreign partners, we prefer rail transport to road where possible (because it involves significantly less CO2 emissions). Shipments charged to the maximum, do not deliver ‘air’. And we encourage our suppliers to do the same.

We have already supported Home-Office before the covid19 epidemic, which is an environmentally friendly solution avoiding travel.

Whenever possible, we prefer to use video conferencing for meetings rather than business trips, thus reducing fuel consumption.

Reduce paper consumption. The vast majority of correspondence is done electronically rather than on paper. We prefer double-sided printing so that less paper is consumed and less paper waste is generated (which would later contribute to greenhouse gas emissions in the landfill).

We encourage employees who drive a car to come together on the way to work, who live close to each other, travel in 1 car, and share the cost of gasoline. Currently, 10% of employees choose this option. 30% of our employees drive a car and our employees live an average of 9 km from the plant. If we can, we go to work by bike.

Instead of ballooned, bottled water, we consume filtered water and not in a plastic cup, but in a mug. We are using Water saving taps.

We use lights with motion sensor avoid the useless usage of energy.

We also encourage our employees to pay attention to their environment, not to use disposable bottles and food containers.

One of the founders of AFM ( is our company: in Africa, we plant trees, collect plastic, and recycle, we collect donations: we renovate discarded electronic devices and give them to those in need in Africa.

We plant trees wherever we can (anyway).

Product lifecycle:

We are managing a products lifecycle goes from when it is first introduced into the market (field test, repairability, weakness investigation and ECO proposal for longer life) until it declines or is removed from the market (retirement strategy and planning, scrapping and proposal for new CPE type).
